Day View, New Template Design, and Auto Scheduling Enhancements Added

Jun 27, 2013 2:56:12 PM / by Matt Thompson

Three big enhancements were added to the ShiftNote scheduling tools this week to continue our mission of creating the best employee scheduling tools in the world for restaurants, retail stores, hotels, and more! As always, shoot us a note if there is a feature you would like to see that would make your life easier. The new features that are now available are:

Day View for the Scheduler

We've added an additional scheduling view to make it easier to schedule for one day at a time within a larger schedule. To change views simply toggle between Week and Day using the buttons in the upper right corner when you are in a schedule.

New Template Design

If you are creating a schedule using a template, you will see that the area in which you grab the template shifts from is now much smaller and scrollable so you can see more of your schedule to decide who to assign the template shifts to.

Auto Scheduling Enhancements

The auto scheduling tool is a pretty cool feature if you haven't already checked it out. If you're scheduling using a template, you can click the Auto Schedule link, and the template shifts will automatically get assigned to available employees. This is a feature that we will continue to tweak, and that's is exactly what we did with the release of our latest new features. The auto scheduler tries to make sure that everyone gets a shift, that those ranked higher get more and better shifts, that doubles are only scheduled if necessary, and it will try to make sure that no employee has back to back open or close shifts. Let's just say it's pretty freaking smart!
